New Signing – Evan Davila

He scored TWICE against FC Cincinnati 2 in a closed-door friendly on 03/02/2024. That’s a good enough reason to sign him in my books! Evan Davila (Insta) is the latest to officially join the 2024 Louisville City roster. Evan, who made an appearance later in the One Knox friendly, is the younger brother of Taylor Davila who signed back in January.

Evan is a recent graduate of Cal where he was a regular midfield feature and earned All-Region honors and a spot on the All-Pac-12 First Team. He signs after a successful trial period with the club.

“I have spoken the entire offseason about the importance of bringing in players that are hungry with ambition to want to improve every single day. Evan is a player that we brought in on trial and fit in from the start," said coach Danny Cruz. "He is a versatile player that's constantly looking to play forward and brings quality in the final third.”

“To graduate college and then sign for a great organization like LouCity is a dream come true,” said Evan Davila. “I’m grateful to be able to represent this city with its amazing fans. I’m also super excited to play and compete with my brother, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."

Much like Jansen Wilson, he clearly was doing something right to earn a contract with such a competitive team. At minimum, he gets the opportunity to learn from a group of guys who know how to win and compete with them. However, I don’t think that Coach Cruz would have him in the mix if he wasn’t capable enough to make the eighteen. Excited to see how he fairs in his first professional season!
