Today is a big day for Racing Louisville! The club has announced the first head coach will be Christy Holly! Holly had a playing career in his home nation of Ireland playing for Limavady United. He has served as an assistant coach at Georgian Court University in Lakewood, NJ and at NWSL side Sky Blue FC in various coaching capacities, most notably as head coach. After his time at Sky Blue, Holly joined the USWNT as an opposition analyst where he helped to compile 200 pages analyses that helped contribute to the team's 2019 World Cup campaign. His depth of player knowledge and experience with the USWNT make him an attractive coaching choice for a new club.
I would like to think that JOC and staff thoroughly vetted this choice. Many of the same individuals involved in this process were also instrumental in the formation of our instantly successful Louisville City side. I am optimistic about his hiring and how he can be pivotal in the club's early history.
