New Signing - Arda Bulut

Capitalizing on the weird and wild collegiate landscape brought about due to the ‘rona, Louisville City have suddenly signed Arda Bulut. Bulut was set to take to the pitch for his senior season at Stanford but decided to forgo his collegiate eligibility to pursue a professional career. He does, however, plan to continue his coursework online. The Los Gatos, CA native was part of Stanford’s 2017 National Championship as well as their semifinal appearance in the 2019 College Cup. Prior to college, the American Turkish player spent time apart of the San Jose Earthquakes youth academy from 2015 – 2017. He also participated in the U.S. U-18 domestic camp in 2016.

I had recently been wondering about the types of signings that City would be interested in during the off-season and a new, young attacker was at the top of my list. Did not expect for another mid-season signing! With Cameron Lancaster only with the squad on loan, there would be a need for more goal scoring. While Bulut was not a prolific goal scorer at Stanford, things could change in the right setup. He is leaving one successful program for another. I’m very excited to see what he brings to the squad. Welcome, Arda!
